Gran Turismo 7 update 1.15: 5 things you may have missed

Gran Turismo 7's substantial Update 1.15 adds several key changes that are easy to miss.

Following Kazunori Yamauchi's teaser last week, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.15 has landed, and it's a substantial update. The latest update adds three new cars along with new Café Menu books and adjustments to the penalty system in Sport Mode.

Polyphony Digital seems to have listened to complaints about GT7's lack of content for returning players because the update also adds new events including GR.1 races.

Sadly, the update doesn't add the ability to sell cars, an option Kazunori announced for a future update back in March. But there are plenty of other useful tweaks and changes that improve the experience.

We’ve dissected the patch notes and found five things you may have missed in Gran Turismo 7 update 1.15.

Polyphony has adjusted the force feedback strength of Thrustmaster and Fanatec wheels in update 1.15.

If the Force Feedback Max. Torque or Force Feedback Sensitivity options are set to very high, Polyphony warns the wheel may "vibrate violently" so you may need to change the settings.

To adjust the force feedback, go to [Controller Settings] > [Steering Force Feedback] and lower the Force Feedback Max. Torque and Force Feedback Sensitivity.

With update 1.15, you can now export photos taken in Scapes or Race Photo mode straight to the PlayStation 5's Media Gallery or PlayStation 4's Capture Gallery.

Photos are exported to the PS5 and PS4 Pro with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and 1920×1080 pixels on the standard PS4. This makes it quicker and easier to share photos to social media platforms or transfer them to a USB drive.

To export a photo, go to the [Showcase] > [My Items] menu. Open the photo you want to export and press the "Export" button on the left.

Previously, you had to load the photo in-game and press the Create button on the PS5 controller and Share button on the PS4 controller to capture a screenshot and save the photo to the Media Gallery or Capture Gallery. You can also still download Scapes photos in their original resolution by visiting the Gran Turismo website and signing into your PSN account.

Personalisation options have also expanded in GT7 with update 1.15.

Seven new paint options have been added, which can be applied in the GT Auto Shop and Livery Editor:

If today happens to be your birthday, a present is waiting for you at the GT Café. Update 1.15 adds Birthday Present Tickets that can be received from Sarah in the Café, allowing you to claim an extra reward.

These can be claimed a week before or after the date of birth registered on your PlayStation Network. Ticket rewards range from credits and tuning parts to a gift car and Brand Central Invitations.

Update 1.15 fixes an issue where "Performance Points were not being calculated correctly when changing gear ratios in the transmission settings." Yes, that means Polyphony has finally removed the infamous Tomahawk grind exploit.

Players have been using the Tomahawk X VGT to farm credits in GT7. It was possible to earn over three million credits in one hour using a glitch to lower the Tomahawk's PP rating and enter it in the Tokyo Express World Touring Car 600 event.

This exploit no longer works in update 1.15. That said, it's probably only a matter of time before GT7's rabid fanbase discovers a similar exploit to grind credits and increase your balance to afford the Legend Cars.
