I tried AirCraft’s ‘powerful’ cordless floor cleaner which ‘locks’ away grime

Jan 01, 2024Jan 01, 2024

Flooring can get dirty very quickly, and although vacuuming is something I do every day, getting the mop out is a rare occasion because it is hassle. However, vacuuming doesn't disinfect or remove marks from the flooring which is what I need due to owning pets. I tested out AirCraft's PowerGlide cordless floor cleaner to see if the job could be made easier.

The description on the website reads: "Powerful, high-absorption microfibre cleaning heads mean you don't have to put your back into cleaning anymore.

"PowerGlide's powerful cleaning heads rotate at 250rpm and its microfibre pads first absorb and then locks away any dirt and grime as it glides.

"Producing brilliant results with PowerGlide is fast and easy, it cleans up to 20sqm per minute and right up to edges with no cord to hold you back."

It did exactly that, removing dirt and grime from my wood flooring in a matter of minutes, and was definitely easier than reaching for my mop.

I also loved that the pads it comes with can be machine washable, more eco-friendly than my mop I was using prior.

Weighing in at just 3kg thanks to its efficient engineering, the floor cleaner was incredibly lightweight to use, meaning I could clean all of the downstairs quickly without having to put in any elbow grease.

You can also fill the tool with water and a floor cleaner if you wish, although I stuck with lukewarm water which seemed to do the job brilliantly.

To put the cleaner to the test, I hoovered and mopped my conservatory to see how good the tool just was and to my surprise, the pads were completely dirty even after mopping.

AirCraft, the company behind the PowerGlide, said: "PowerGlide doesn't just clean your floors to perfection, it also polishes to a perfect shine.

"Our 21cm microfibre cleaning and polishing pads ensure that dirt is absorbed and locked away into their fibres to allow you to also polish as you can."

The company claims the cleaning heads are powerful enough to collect dirt and grime as it glides and gentle enough to care for wooden floors, tiles, vinyl, laminate and natural stone as well as marble and granite.

I also found cleaning my floors with this tool to be easy due to it being cordless, something I haven't seen or tried in anything but vacuums.

AirCraft added: "A high performance, removable lithium ion battery provides 30 to 40 minutes of high performance cleaning from a single charge and quickly recharges in just two hours.

"Simply unclip the battery from PowerGlide for charging and plug in wherever is most convenient."

Due to the size of the product, I was worried I would have trouble finding somewhere to store it in-between uses. However, the device sits totally upright, meaning it can be stored absolutely anywhere, and I kept it behind the front door.

The design is sleek and the light on the front of it made the job easier, although I was horrified to see small stains across the floor I had missed with my mop.

The company sells the cordless floor cleaner in white, grey and jet black, offering customers the option to purchase extra pads if they need.

It retails online for various different prices but on the company's website at the time of writing, it is currently reduced from £249.95 to £199.95.

I think if you’re in the market for a fancy floor cleaner, the PowerGlide would be the way to go, especially if you have a large area of hard flooring.

I’m not sure if I would personally pay nearly £200 for the floor cleaner, but it definitely made the chore more enjoyable and made me reach for it more often than I usually would clean floors.

It is also more eco-friendly than a wipe mop alternative, which I used previously.

On Trustpilot, customers raved about the PowerGlide with 90 percent of purchasers rating it five star, and just one percent rating it a two star.

Reviews said the product "saved time" as well as "great value for money". Other reviews said the customer service team were great and the delivery was efficient.
