May 21, 2023Demiguise Statues Locations
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are many types of locks that will block your path as you seek to explore the depths of Hogwarts, as well as access to certain buildings in chests also found in Hogsmeade Village and the Highlands. As you learn the Alohomora unlocking spell from the groundskeeper, Mr. Moon, you’ll find out about Demiguise Statues - small statues of creatures holding glowing moons that can be obtained only when they shimmer at night.
By finding these Demiguise Statues, Mr. Moon will teach you more powerful versions of Alohomora to unlock level 2 and level 3 locks. So, to help you upgrade your lockpicking skills, this guide details the locations for all Demiguise Statues you can find across all the regions in Hogwarts Legacy.

Even though you can spy a few Demiguise statues early out in the open, none of them can be interacted with until you learn the Alohomora spell. This will happen after you complete The First Trial quest and the season turns to fall, at which point Mr. Moon will ask for your assistance and teach you the unlocking spell.
Though the quest will have you grab 3 Demiguise statues around Hogwarts Castle, none of them count towards the tracked total to be found, and you’ll only get one Demiguise Moon to trade to the groundskeeper towards learning advanced versions of the spell.
Below you will find all known locations of Demiguise Statues. Some may be found out in the open, while others are hiding behind locked doors that require a certain level of Alohomora to breach. The statue locations below are divided up into Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the Highlands, in the order you can find them (ones that do not require lockpicking first).
Remember, it must be night time before the Demiguise Statue can be picked up, and only after completing Mr. Moon's first quest. Despite his warnings, you won't have to worry about curfew or patrols at night after his quest. See our Hogwarts Legacy Map for more collectible locations.
